Grant targets fight against Internet predators

The federal government has awarded more than $300,000 to fight Internet crimes against children in this region, U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner and Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones announced Monday.
The $340,511 Department of Justice grant goes to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The grant will pay the salary and benefits of two full-time detectives dedicated to investigating these types offenses, officials said.
